All Green

Our Story

Green Earth Carpet Cleaning was founded in July 2009 by Mark and Nathan Holley, brothers from Campbell River and Courtenay respectively. Nathan has owned and operated a carpet cleaning franchise in Courtenay/Comox since 2004, and Mark has owned and operated a franchise of the same company since 2007.

Why Green?

Green. You see this word probably multiple times everyday; commercials on T.V. (cars, laptops), household items from laundry soap to toiletpaper, and so on. We all want to be greener, and try to make choices about what we buy and what we throw away to do our part. But its more than just saving the planet: we buy green products like handsoap and laundry detergent because we are concerned about the exposure of our families and pets to the chemicals found in regular products.

Carpet cleaning can be green and safe too. Unfortunately, most companies, even those who claim that they use 'natural' ingredients, use all kinds of harmful, toxic chemicals (phosphates, methyl ether, butyls, etc.) These ingredients are not only harmful to aquatic life when they enter our sewer system and make their way to our waterways, but are also harmful to our health.

Sure, but isn't everybody claiming to be green in one way or another these days? Calling a product Green does not make it green. That's why we use only Green Label products that are not toxic to aquatic life or humans, are not carcinogens or known to cause reproductive toxicity, are not corrosive to the skin or eyes, and do not contain substances that contribute significantly to the production of photochemical smog, tropospheric ozone, or poor indoor-air quality.

Do green label products clean as well as ordinary chemicals? Yes! Cleaning solutions make up a portion of all the elements that are required for effective cleaning. Other elements, such as heat, rinsing and extraction are equally, if not more important. Unfortunately, when cleaners are not willing to take the time to do the job correctly or use quality equipment, they have to resort to using harsh chemicals to make up the difference.

Our system focuses on using the hottest water, in sufficient amounts to properly rinse all residues from your carpet, with the highest level of extraction, to give you clean, fresh, safe carpet that is dry within hours. Call now for your free in-home, no-obligation estimate.

Green Products

You may not be aware, but Carpet Cleaning is an industry with no regulations. That means that a carpet cleaner can use whatever products he or she chooses in your home. The problem is that most cleaners choose fairly heavy duty products, that are filled with harsh chemicals, because they believe that these products "work" better. As the customer, you often have no idea what products are being used in your home, as the cleaner is under no legal obligation to discuss with you, or get your approval for the chemicals used.

At Green Earth Carpet Cleaning, we want to change that. That's why we use one product as a pre-spray in your home (and will gladly show you the MSDS), and rinse with just water. Rinsing with just water may sound obvious, but the truth is that almost all cleaners meter cleaning solutions into the water that they use! This means that more chemical residue will be left behind in your home!

Take a look at our Why Green? page for more information about what "green" means, and why Green Cleaning is a better choice for your carpet cleaning needs.
